LRS Output Management for Siemens
Since the 1990s, LRS and Siemens (now Cerner Health Services) have worked together to provide reliable delivery of healthcare documents for their customers. Our latest collaboration utilizes a documented and supported interface linking Soarian Clinicals, Financials, and Scheduling with the LRS® solution. VPSX/SI (Soarian® Interface) software simplifies administration in the Soarian environment by reducing the number of Windows print servers and printer drivers. The software solution also streamlines printing by receiving data directly from the Soarian OMS process, thereby eliminating multiple potential points of failure.

LRS software runs on all open systems platforms which Soarian solutions run on including UNIX, Linux, and Windows. Through advanced technical integration, LRS VPSX for Siemens software provides Soarian users detailed print status feedback without having to leave the application. In the event of print failures, a document can be manually rerouted or diverted by the end-user ensuring business critical documents always get printed as they are needed. The LRS software acts as a central point of control for all Soarian application output including printing, viewing, archiving, faxing or emailing. The solution also streamlines printing by receiving data directly from the Soarian OMS process.
Compliance
LRS extension products provide a fully documented audit trail of who, when & where documents were printed or viewed to aid compliance with relevant HIPAA regulations. Based on their administration rights, end users can also search all documents for a given value (i.e., patient name, procedure, account number) and view the “hits” online instantaneously. This audit trail can also be used to measure and analyze output to facilitate management reporting and cost analysis.
Electronic delivery of critical care information
The PageCenterX® solution from LRS can be used to provide fail-safe electronic distribution of reports such as MAR and Physician Rounding Reports for continuity during downtime events. Our software analyzes content for rules-based distribution to the correct destinations. Once complete, the documents are then electronically delivered to nursing stations and remote facilities.
Output Infrastructure
LRS software makes the most of system resources and relieves Soarian and other business applications of the burden of managing document delivery to printers and other devices. The LRS software replaces incumbent print infrastructure and lets you eliminate unnecessary print servers. It also enables remote clinicians to access their documents via a web browser, printing what they need on devices at their location, i.e., home, clinic, and more.
